Angel Aikawa is a dark J-pop artist. Her debut album, This Isn’t Love, arrives 08.28: ten tracks that move through manipulation, contempt, obsession and a world that behaves like a rigged game, and end somewhere quieter than where they started.

The record is built as four chapters, each pairing two songs, and it is meant to be taken in order — the last chapter only makes sense once the first three have done their damage. The sound sits between sugar-bright pop and corrupted signal: pixel-game interfaces on the surface, scripture and stillness underneath.
